Case Studies: Paging / Sound Masking: Pharmaceutical Company
This pharmaceutical company was building a brand new corporate headquarters with two buildings each comprised of four floors. As one of the global leaders in the industry, the client was concerned with employee productivity as well as controlling information visitors could hear. In addition, the company was interested in a 'green' project to minimize any damage done to the environment.
Advent Systems installed more than 1,400 speakers during the early phase of construction, hiding the wiring above the ceilings. The team used only one cabinet and programmed one control system per building to make the complex system simple to use and adjust. It was also set up independent of where people were sitting, so it could easily be adapted if the layout of the cubicles changed. To meet the client's green needs, Advent used a local speaker company located less than 50 miles from the site. In addition, all of the speakers were shipped in reusable containers that were returned to the manufacturer, reducing shipping waste.
The client was successfully Silver Certified within the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System.
